Beginning today, Company Town has a new feature, a chart that shows what’s happening in the video industry. This is one of several changes in recent months to Company Town, which reports on the entertainment industry in the Business section Tuesday through Friday. The changes, mostly involving weekly charts, are designed to offer features with the most relevant information with which to dissect the entertainment business.

The video chart is organized to show major companies’ market share in the home video business. The chart will periodically offer quarterly market share, weekly market share and break the market down by segments. VideoScan, a company that monitors sales of videos directly from retail outlets across the country, is the source for the chart.

Company Town will continue to cover major executive changes in the entertainment industry but no longer will run lists of promotions and appointments in the Executive Suites column.
