Burlington Air Wins Siemens Contract
IRVINE —
Burlington Air Express said Thursday that it has signed a four-year contract worth $24 million to provide overnight air freight services throughout North America for German conglomerate Siemens.
The $6-million annual agreement covers all Siemens’ U.S. divisions, with most of the traffic covering its business communications and health-care products. The contract includes overnight and second-day air freight and some international express freight service.
Burlington, a subsidiary of the Pittston Co., has been handling Siemens’ overnight air freight business since 1992.
