Army Won’t Charge Witness With Lying
The Army dropped its allegation that a female trainee lied about having sex with an instructor. The Army said the charge against Pvt. Toni Moreland wasn’t a priority and officials didn’t want to bring in an out-of-town witness. Moreland, 21, pleaded guilty to other minor charges at a low-level summary court-martial. She was sentenced to 16 days in prison and fined $300. Moreland accused investigators of trying to bully her and other female witnesses into falsely claiming they were raped by instructors at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
