Grenade Attacks Kill 1 Person, Injure 42
Grenade attacks on a hotel and a restaurant in the capital, Addis Ababa, killed one person and wounded 42 others, diplomats and state radio reported. Police said a waitress died and 33 people were wounded when a grenade was lobbed into the Tigray Hotel in the city center. Nine other people were wounded in the attack on Blue Tops, an expensive Italian restaurant favored by foreigners and rich Ethiopians. There were no reports of arrests in the attacks. Prime Minister Meles Zenawi’s government blamed Muslim fundamentalists for a series of bombings last year.
