Passover

The eight-day Passover holiday celebrates the redemption of the Jews from slavery in Egypt. It’s also called the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a reminder of the speed with which the Jews had to flee their homes--they didn’t have time to let their bread rise before baking it for their journey. The Seder dinner, held on the first night of Passover (and often on the second night as well), is the principal ceremony of the festival.
