Fraud Can Take a Variety of Forms

Share

State Farm’s firing of agents accused of misusing money from its charitable foundation is just another example of a lack of ethics (“State Farm Fires 53, Mostly in California,” April 8).

Do those agents approve of State Farm policyholders falsifying insurance claims? In both cases, it’s stealing from State Farm, and, therefore, from the policyholders.

The excuse that it was for a good cause leads to the question--is that what the alumni learned at Wayne State College? It is no different from a student’s falsifying his loan application in order to get financial aid. Any way you look at it, it’s fraud.
