Derlan to Do Work for Materials Research

Derlan Industries Ltd. said its unit in Santa Ana has received a three-year, $150-million contract from Materials Research Corp. to produce thin film coating equipment for the semiconductor industry. The Derlan Inc. unit plans to establish a facility in Congers, N.Y., to provide final assembly and testing.

Derlan Industries makes products for the aerospace and industrial technologies sectors. Materials Research is a unit of Sony Corp.
