Man Allegedly Has Sex With Teen Met on Net
A 26-year-old man who befriended a 15-year-old girl on the Internet was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse, police said Friday.
The two met in March, possibly through a chat room, and began a friendship that led the girl to agree to meet the older man at Heritage Park two weeks later, Police Investigator Peter Linton said. During the meeting, which occurred in the 4600 block of Walnut Avenue, “the suspect engaged the victim in several sexual acts in a secluded area of the park,” Linton said.
A subsequent investigation led police to Bartt Albert Roberts of Anaheim, who was arrested Thursday at his apartment and booked into the Orange County Jail, Linton said.
Investigators seized a computer hard drive, software and documents that included photographs of young girls from the apartment, Linton said. Police are trying to determine whether there were other victims.
A jail spokeswoman said Roberts was freed Friday after posting a $5,000 bail bond.
