Woman Killed by Amtrak Train
SAN CLEMENTE —
An unidentified woman was killed Monday night when she reportedly jumped off a bridge in front of an Amtrak commuter train, officials said.
The northbound train was delayed about 90 minutes as deputies investigated the 7:19 p.m. incident, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Paddock said.
Witnesses said the woman climbed past security fences to reach a bridge above the tracks near Esplanade and Paseo de Cristobal, about one-fourth of a mile south of the Municipal Pier Amtrak station.
