Re “2 Men Get Prison Time in Exorcism Killing,” April 25: As an arrogant and disobedient wife, I was certainly upset at the verdict by the judge in the Korean missionary case. Two and four years is now an acceptable sentence for stomping a woman to death over a five-hour period. Of course they only did it to exorcise the demons that were making this woman disobedient and arrogant to her husband.

Disobedience and arrogance are now a successful defense for murder? Cultural differences? Give me a break. Who believes these men could not see what was happening? Who believes the wife did not plead with them to stop? A male judge, that’s who.
