Silicon Graphics Inc. said Chief Financial Officer Stanley J. Meresman and Michael Ramsey, a senior vice president, have resigned to pursue other opportunities as the company restructures. Meresman, 50, had been with the maker of high-end computers for eight years. William Kelly, senior vice president of corporate operations, will take over Meresman’s duties until a replacement is found. David Orton, formerly head of the company’s scalable systems group, will assume Ramsey’s duties as senior vice president of the desktop and graphics group. The company also said it will streamline operations by bringing the development and manufacturing of workstations and supercomputing systems--including those of recently acquired Cray Research Inc.--under one unit. The restructuring will not involve any job cuts. Shares of the Mountain View-based firm were unchanged at $16 on the NYSE.
