Conner Named Interim Chief of Transportation Department
Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan on Wednesday named Thomas K. Conner as interim chief of the city’s Department of Transportation.
Conner has worked for the department for 29 years, and has been an assistant general manager since 1993. He played a key role in planning for the 1984 Olympic Games and the response to the 1994 Northridge earthquake.
He will fill the job while the city seeks a permanent replacement to Robert Yates, who is retiring.
