Robert B. Chernove; Insurance Industry Executive

Robert B. Chernove, 73, insurance industry executive and civic leader. Chernove was founder of Winco Insurance Sales of Beverly Hills and president for the past 20 years. He was a graduate of USC and taught mathematics and business at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles before he started working in the insurance field. A victim of myasthenia gravis, melanoma and lymphoma, Chernove was on the board of directors of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation and active in the John Wayne Cancer Institute. He was also a member of Al Malaika and the Westwood Shrine Club, where he was a 32nd-degree Mason. On May 28 in Los Angeles of leukemia.
