MTA to Offer Tours of Downtown Art

The Metropolitan Transit Authority will host several tours Sundayof public art at the Gateway Transit Center near downtown’s Union Station.

The nine public art projects include bus stops, benches, fountains and a fish tank, all molded into aesthetic environments through the use of murals, ceramics, light and materials such as water, bronze and glass.

Tours will begin at 2:30, 3, 3:30 and 4 p.m. and are available in both English and Spanish. The tours will meet in the East Portal area behind Union Station, near the fish tank.

A 2 p.m. reception will include participation by some of the artists involved in the project, including Kim Yasuda, Torgen Johnson, Noel Korten and Matthew Vanderborgh.
