McDougal Enters Federal Prison

President Clinton’s former Whitewater business partner, James B. McDougal, entered a federal prison in Lexington to begin his three-year sentence for fraud and conspiracy. McDougal had faced 84 years in prison but received a lighter sentence because he cooperated with prosecutors investigating the president and Hillary Rodham Clinton. McDougal and the Clintons were investors in the failed real estate venture known as Whitewater.
