Property Owners Approve Lighting, Landscape Levy

Share

Glendora property owners in a mail-in election have overwhelmingly approved the continuation of annual assessments to provide $247,000 for street lighting and landscaping.

Four of five property owners who cast their ballots supported the Lighting and Landscape Assessment District. The assessment, which costs a typical homeowner $31.75 annually, offsets the cost of powering street lights and maintaining landscaping.

Since 1976, the Glendora City Council has approved the assessment annually.

But voters statewide last November approved Proposition 218, which requires that such assessments be approved by property owners.
