Funeral Set for Times Reporter Don Smith
Funeral services will be July 11 for Don Smith, an award-winning reporter for The Times Orange County for 34 years.
Smith died of emphysema at his home on Thursday at age 71.
He is survived by his wife, Vi, and children Janette Smith of Hemet, Matthew of Venice and Michael Richard of Morongo Valley; his stepchildren, Lawrence Kastner, Gene Kastner, Andrea Kastner and Christy Kastner; nine step-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. at Waverly Chapel in Fairhaven Memorial Park and Mortuary, Santa Ana.
