‘Tehran Vampire’ Hanged for 9 Killings

A taxi driver convicted of killing nine female passengers was whipped and hanged in front of thousands of spectators. Ali Reza Khoshruy Kuran Kordiyeh, 28, had come to be known as the “Tehran Vampire.” Several of the victims’ male relatives whipped Kordiyeh before he was tied to a crane and lifted high into the air.
