Coleman’s Choice Aided by Irish

Kenyon Coleman didn’t know how good he was until Notre Dame came along.

“Notre Dame wanted me,” he said. “That said I was among the elite. I thought I could play at that level, but I didn’t know until then.”

After visiting Notre Dame, Coleman decided that his first impulse was the right one and signed with the Bruins.

He has been among the most impressive of the freshmen, taking a turn with the first defensive unit Wednesday in place of injured nose guard Jeff Ruckman.
