A reward of up to $2 million for information on those responsible for letter bombs mailed to the United States and Britain last December was announced Thursday by the State Department.

All of the bombs were postmarked in Alexandria, Egypt, and were mailed Dec. 21. They were sent in the form of musical Christmas cards.

Four of the bombs were sent to the Washington office of Al-Hayat, a newspaper owned by the Saudi royal family. Three others were sent to Ft. Leavenworth, Kan., four to New York City and four to London.
