From Times Wire Reports

The Philippine Supreme Court has ruled that Imelda Marcos may not leave the country for medical treatment in the United States, upholding an anti-graft court’s ban on her foreign travel. The court said the widow of deposed President Ferdinand E. Marcos filed her appeal after the deadline for a motion to overturn the decision of the anti-graft court. The former first lady was convicted of corruption in 1993. She is free on bail pending an appeal. Her earlier requests to seek glaucoma treatment in the United States had been refused.
