2nd Female Cadet Quits Citadel Military Training

A second woman from the group of 20 female cadets who enrolled at The Citadel has dropped out of the military college.

Twenty-nine male cadets have also left, leaving 528 members of the freshmen class, college spokesman Terry Leedom said.

The college did not identify the cadets. Leedom said the woman, who dropped out Friday, decided she did not want the military lifestyle. “It just wasn’t a good fit,” he said.

There were no allegations of improper treatment involving the woman, Leedom said.
