Charity Seeks Food, Clothing for Needy

The We Care charity needs donations of food, clothing and personal hygiene products to give to families in need during the holiday season.

“We take a donation . . . turn around and hand it right out again,” said Marty Thompson, agency director.

For Thanksgiving meals, We Care gave away groceries to 250 needy families.

Affiliated with churches in Los Alamitos, Cypress and Seal Beach, the outreach program offers emergency assistance including food and toiletries, gasoline vouchers, bus passes and help finding employment. The goal is to teach self-sufficiency, Thompson said.
