Leland Francis Johnson; Pennzoil Executive and Philanthropist

Leland Francis Johnson, 86, oil company executive and philanthropist. Educated at the private Harvard School in North Hollywood and Stanford University, Johnson spent his entire career with the Pennzoil Co. of California. He was president of Pennzoil from 1954 until his retirement in 1976. His charities included educational and children’s institutions, such as Marlborough School, Stanford University and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. Johnson served on the Junior Achievement board for more than 10 years. On Tuesday in Los Angeles of heart failure.
