Space Shuttle Flight to Mir Is Postponed

NASA has delayed next month’s shuttle mission to Mir, leaving American astronaut David Wolf on board the Russian outpost for at least five more days. Endeavour had been scheduled to blast off Jan. 15. Russian officials asked NASA to delay the mission to allow time for work on the Mir station, NASA said at Kennedy Space Center. At the same time, NASA said technicians discovered gouges on Columbia’s thermal tiles after the shuttle returned to Earth last week.
