Seniors Club Chips In for Community Center
The Anaheim Senior Citizens Club has donated $50,000 to help pay for furnishings and equipment at the Downtown Community Center, under construction next to City Hall.
A fund-raising effort, led by the Anaheim Community Foundation, is underway to pay for interior improvements for the center, planned for completion next May. More than $500,000 has already been raised, city officials said.
The $8.5-million facility will include a senior citizens center, the city’s first public gymnasium, a boxing club, conference and meeting rooms and human services offices.
