Share

New and used pianos and keyboards will be sold at reduced prices over the weekend in a sale at Cal State Northridge.

Sponsored by Keyboard Concepts, a local piano dealer, in conjunction with CSUN’s music department, the two-day piano sale consists of Saturday’s “By Appointment Only” private sale followed by Sunday’s public sale.

The inventory, to be displayed at the Music Building on campus, consists of new and used pianos and keyboards, rental returns, trade-ins and instruments used by CSUN music students and faculty members, said Howard Sontag, sales manager at Keyboard Concepts in Van Nuys.

“I don’t want to quote a percentage, but I can assure you that the savings are substantial and is worth the visit for anyone interested in purchasing a piano or keyboard,” he said.

Major brands such as Yamaha, Baldwin, Steinway, Schimmel and Young Chang will be available, as well as popular items such as Yamaha’s Disklavier and Clavinova digital piano, Sontag said.

“We expect a lot of people, especially this time of the year because many are looking for family gifts, “ said Rose Mathias, music public relations and program director at CSUN.

Saturday’s private sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Prospective buyers wanting to schedule an appointment may call (800) 818-PIANO.

Sunday’s public sale is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Music Building, situated on the south side of campus on Nordhoff Street between Lindley and Etiwanda avenues.
