Spotlight: Cadence Design to Open Plant in Scotland

San Jose-based software company Cadence Design Systems Inc. unveiled plans to open a plant in Livinston, Scotland, that will create about 1,900 jobs over the next seven years. The value of the investment was not disclosed. The facility will form part of a complex housing various electronics firms and will be the largest design center in Cadence’s worldwide network. The company said its decision was influenced by Scotland’s “pool of highly skilled and readily available engineering talent.”
