Women in Russia

“Russia’s Ugly Little Secret: Misogyny” (Dec. 6) tells us that in Russia, gallantry is merely a facade and underneath it all women are treated very poorly, but one undeniable statistic tells us more about the relative treatment of men and women than any other. Russia has the largest gap between male and female life expectancy, with women outliving men by 14 years.
