A Winter Wish Come True for Ill Children

Share

More than 300 children suffering from serious illnesses visited Santa’s workshop Thursday in a “winter wonderland” built on a CBS Television City sound stage.

Radio station Arrow 93 FM sponsored the 7th annual holiday party that featured face painting, cookie decorating and toys for children involved in the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Make-a-Wish Foundation participants are children ages 2 to 18 who have life-threatening or terminal illnesses, said Mary Lou O’Toole, a spokeswoman for Make-a-Wish.

The foundation attempts to fulfill a specific wish of each child involved. The most often heard wish is for a computer, O’Toole said, and the second most frequent request is a trip to Disneyworld.

She said all of the children who gathered at Sound Stage 33 for the year-end party had their wishes granted by the foundation during the past year.
