Helpers Sought for Wetlands Cleanup
The Bolsa Chica Conservancy is looking for volunteers to clean up debris left in the area’s delicate wetlands by recent rainstorms.
“The cleanup is a good way to prevent Bolsa Chica from looking like a trash heap,” Education Director Adrianne Morrison said.
Conservancy staff members and visitors have complained of plastic bags, cups and other trash bobbing in the water. In addition, street cones and an assortment of shoes are stuck in the mud.
The next cleanup will be from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 27. Volunteers will meet at the walkbridge on Pacific Coast Highway, south of Warner Avenue. Information: (714) 846-1113.
