No Pluck, and Now No Puck

Coach Larry Robinson put the slumping Kings through a tough practice Tuesday--without pucks--in a return to basics. They have only one tie in their last six games.

Robinson used the same practice method in late October, after the team had struggled to a 2-2 tie at Florida. The Kings responded by winning five of their next seven, among them games at Detroit and New Jersey.

“With the exception of maybe our goaltending, which has been pretty steady . . . everyone has been playing poorly,” Robinson said. “I haven’t been pleased with the effort.”

The Kings are 12-14-6 overall and 0-5-1 over their last six games. After 32 games last season, they were 12-16-4 and in the middle of an 0-6-1 slide.
