Daimler-Benz’s entry into the small-car market faltered again as it delayed the launch of its Smart micro car by six months to correct quality problems. The delay, which will cost Daimler’s Micro Compact Car unit $170 million in 1997 and 1998, comes a month after Daimler halted delivery of its first small car, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, after it rolled over in tests. . . . Campbell Soup Co. named Donald Keller as chairman of its specialty foods business, which it plans to spin off early next year. Keller, 65, joins the company from the food company B. Manischewitz & Co., where he is chairman.
