Appeals Will Fail, McVeigh Predicts

Convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy J. McVeigh expects his appeals to fail and to spend the rest of his life on death row, he wrote in a letter to the Dallas Morning News. “Because of the intense public pressure and demand for my blood, I do not see an appeals court ruling in my favor,” he said in the letter postmarked Monday. McVeigh, 29, He was sentenced to death after his conviction on 11 counts of conspiracy and murder in the April 19, 1995, bombing that killed 168 people.
