As Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings and Dan Rather duke it out in the viewership ratings wars by increasingly substituting feature-fluff for hard news (“ ‘CBS Evening News’ Climbs to Second Place in Ratings,” by Jane Hall, Dec. 5), a 30-minute, commercially uninterrupted summary of world news continues to be presented nightly by Dalgit Dhaliwal.
Dhaliwal is the news reader for Britain’s “ITN World News,” offered by three television stations in the Los Angeles area (7 p.m. on KLCS, 7:30 p.m. on KOCE and KVCR). She is professional, attractive, delightfully demure and arguably the best--as anchor of the most-inclusive 30-minute television news program available. Give a look.
