NBC Signs Up Nathan Lane Series

NBC has ordered a comedy series starring Nathan Lane that will premiere next season and be produced by the creative team behind “Frasier.”

In the show, Lane--a Broadway star whose movie credits include “The Birdcage” and the current release “Mouse Hunt”--will play an opera singer who moves to the Napa Valley to help run the family vineyard. All the major networks had pursued the project, which will be produced by Paramount Television.
