Air District Certifies Smart Sonic Solvent
A detergent manufactured by Smart Sonic Corp. in Newbury Park has been certified as a “clean air solvent” by the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
The product, 440-R SMT detergent, is used by the electronics industry to clean solder paste from screens, stencils and other tools used in the assembly of printed circuit boards.
In awarding the certification, the air quality agency found that the detergent has no ingredients that deplete the Earth’s ozone layer or contribute to global warming and has a low smog-formation rate.
