Computer Classes Offered for Seniors

Seniors this winter can take classes that teach hands-on computer skills through the Irvine Valley College Emeritus Program.

The college will be offering “Computer Fundamentals and Applications” on Wednesdays from 2 to 5 p.m. starting Jan. 14, or on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon starting Jan. 16.

The class is designed to introduce basic computer operations to seniors who don’t have a computer background.

The one-unit classes are $13 plus an $11 health fee.

In addition, “Spreadsheet and Database” will be offered Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. starting Jan. 16. The class provides an introduction to computers and instruction on Excel spreadsheet and Quicken personal finance programs. The 1.5-unit class is $19.50 plus an $11 health fee.
