Getty Center
Each day as I inch down the Sepulveda Pass to behold the monstrosity that is the Getty Center, I will recall longingly the pristine hilltop it replaced. I will think of all the bombed-out, burned-out, blackened boroughs in the center city that clamor in vain for the kind of development, jobs, notoriety and traffic that the Getty Center will bring to a neighborhood that needs it like a SigAlert.
I wish there were still a way to avoid the same mistake with Playa Vista.
