Thieves Take $20,000 From Trader Joe’s

Burglars smashed a window and escaped with $20,000 from the safe of a Trader Joe’s early Friday, police said.
An employee discovered the burglary at 5:01 a.m. Police said the burglar alarm had not gone off; they did not know whether the thieves had disarmed it.
The safe is in a locked room that had been forced open, police said. The store is at 2500 E. Imperial Highway.
The thieves also took food, but police had no specifics.
