Asia’s economic problems could put a slight dent in international tourism in Southern California and nationwide. But overall, relatively strong growth is expected in 1998. Los Angeles is betting on the lure of the Getty Center and on a healthy year for convention bookings. The Aquarium of the Pacific and the Queensway Bay attraction will make their debuts in Long Beach. In Orange County, Disney will open a renovated Tomorrowland at Disneyland, and new owners are taking over Knott’s Berry Farm.
