‘Hear My Song’

This 1991 Irish comedy, sassy, witty and often irresistible, is about a Liverpool entrepreneur (co-writer Adrian Dunbar) who sets himself the task of tracking down legendary Irish singer Josef Locke (Ned Beatty, pictured), who’s been avoiding English gigs because of tax problems. Dunbar’s Irish odyssey is full of impudent adventures, cantankerous cows and sarcastic delights, blarney in excelsis. Co-written and directed by Peter Chelsom (Friday Bravo at 5 and 10:05 p.m.).
