Platinum Software to Acquire Clientele

IRVINE — Platinum Software Corp. said Monday that it will acquire privately held Clientele Software Inc. for about $11 million in stock, its first step to expand its business software line to include customer service products.
Clientele, based in Portland, Ore., makes software that helps companies automate their help desk and personnel planning. Platinum plans to integrate Clientele’s software with its financial and accounting products.
Platinum said the companies may cut some jobs.
Platinum said it will issue up to 1.1 million shares for all of Clientele’s shares outstanding and options.
