Nominees Sought for Chamber’s Top Ten

Share

The Camarillo Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its 31st annual Top Ten community awards.

The awards honor individuals, businesses or clubs that have helped better the city.

“It started out as just a man and woman of the year award,” said Carol Nordahl, the chamber’s executive director. “But we’ve since added several categories and call it Top Ten. It’s a way to recognize contributions of various members of the community.”

In addition to man and woman of the year, other categories recognize a senior citizen, youth, entrepreneur, business person, educator, public servant, service organization and volunteer.

“It’s all toward keeping Camarillo a good place to live and work,” Nordahl said.

This year, the recipient of the youth award will also receive a scholarship from EMI Music Distribution.

Nomination forms must be received by Aug. 1 and are available at the chamber office, several banks in the community and the Camarillo Health Care District.

More than 50 nominations were submitted last year.

Winners will be notified in advance of an Oct. 3 banquet at Spanish Hills Country Club.
