Overton’s Poisoning Conviction Is Upheld
The conviction of Richard K. Overton for poisoning his wife, one of Orange County’s most notorious murder cases, has been upheld by the 4th District Court of Appeal.
Overton was convicted in 1995 of killing Janet L. Overton, 46, a trustee of the Capistrano Unified School District. He maintained that she had died of heart failure.
He is serving life in prison without possibility of parole.
