Share

Computer products company Alpha Microsystems reported a net loss of $1.1 million, or 11 cents a share, for the first quarter, ended May 25, compared with a net loss of $344,000, or 5 cents a share, a year ago.

Revenue dropped 37% to $4.5 million from $7.1 million. This year’s results include costs of approximately $800,000 from operations related to the launch of new software products.

The decline in revenue was attributed to divestitures in the previous year and the expected continued decline in sales of the company’s older product line.
