NEW YORK —
Police were searching the waters of the Hudson River near the Statue of Liberty early Saturday for a 34-year-old man who jumped off a ferry after being chased by a group of men on the boat.
The man was waiting to buy a beer when a woman became offended at something he said, a police spokesman said. She told her male friends about the incident and they chased the man to the lower deck where he jumped into the water, the spokesman said.
