President’s Son Says ‘No Strings’

A son of the president fought bribery charges by telling a court in Seoul that millions of dollars he received from businessmen came with “no strings attached.” Kim Hyun Chul, 37, who was arrested in May on charges of bribery and tax evasion, is the first close relative of an incumbent South Korean president to face criminal charges. If convicted, he could be ordered to serve more than 10 years in prison.
