Powerwave Sets Record

Powerwave Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of amplifiers for use in wireless communications networks, posted record net income of $3.4 million, or 20 cents a share, for the second quarter, a 79% increase from the $1.9 million, or 13 cents a share, for the 1996 period. Sales grew 79% to $27.4 million from $15.3 million. The company did not provide results for the first six months.
