Vigilantes Beat the Peppers in 11

The Vigilantes needed 11 innings to defeat Salinas, 3-2, in a Western Baseball League game Wednesday night in Salinas.

Trailing by a run after eight innings, the Vigilantes tied the game in the ninth.

Alan Burke led the Vigilantes with three hits and one run batted in.

Kirk Kishita, who relieved starter Mike Smith in the eighth, picked up his third victory for the Vigilantes (18-24). Kishita pitched three scoreless innings. Steve Ceterko pitched the 11th inning and got his fifth save.

Derek Fahs, a former Cal State Fullerton and Fountain Valley High player, pitched the 11th for Salinas and took the loss.

The Vigilantes will play the Peppers in a four-game series starting Sunday at Saddleback College.
